The focus is on the individual, not their illness, and all the symptoms are seen in relation to each other.

Traditional acupuncturists believe that the principle of the treatment is that illness and pain occur when the body's qi, or vital energy, cannot flow freely within the meridian channels. There can be many reasons for this; emotional and physical stress, poor nutrition, infection, hereditary factors, injury plus many more. Tongue, Pulse, Lifestyle diagnosis is assessed during the treatment.

By inserting ultra-fine sterile needles into specific acupuncture points, a traditional acupuncturist seeks to re-establish the free flow of qi to restore balance and trigger the body's natural healing response, and tongue and pulse diagnosis methods.

Auricular Acupuncture

Auricular acupuncture works on the principle that the ear represents a microsystem of the body where specific regions on the ear represent specific regions or organs in the body. If there are symptoms or conditions present in any organ the corresponding area on the ear is often tender to touch so the ear can be used as an indication that an organ or body area requires treatment, Acupuncture and acupressure is used during the treatment to help move Qi (vital life force energy) and release stagnation, and tourmaline seeds placed onto the specific point in the ear are used to help the client tend to their symptom even after their treatment.
